When You Know the Grandchildren are Getting Smarter than You..............

Walking the dog with my six year old (his birthday is today) grandson, Eli.
Eli:  “ Clog, what is the smallest particle there is, is it a microbe?”
Clog quaking, pretends not to hear him.

  1. That's the perfect time to point out some item of interest waaaay in the distance, then offer ice cream....let's face it, most of us will never be as smart as Eli at ANY age.

  2. That reminds me of the (very precocious) grandson of a good friend. The little guy was in kindergarten and some of the more advanced children were at a table with paper and crayons practicing writing letters of the alphabet and some were even writing words. For some reason, the teacher was explaining that the letter "q" is always followed by the letter "u." Little guy gets a puzzled look on his face and asks the teacher, "But what about our phone company, Qwest?"

    1. I love it! It amazes me what goes on in those little brains.
We just had his birthday party - lobster and Boston Cream Pie. A true New Englander.
